What happened to users groups?

Micro-Ram — November 28, 2007 - 9:55pm

Back in the early 80's I was involved with the local Atari users group. There were regular meetings and lots of good information was learned. Now that we have blogs and forums nobody seems really interested in getting together and talking computers. The only one I know of locally is Linux User Group Of Peoria.

I personally wouldn't mind getting together to discuss topics like web development and programming in PHP, Coldfusion, MySQL, C, C++, ETC with others in the area. Anyone interested?
